Important safety information for Sildenafil Citrate (25mg, 50mg, and 100mg)

Warning:

Sildenafil Citrate can cause serious side effects. Do not take Sildenafil Citrate if you:

  • Take any form of nitrates (often prescribed for chest pain)
  • Use recreational drugs called “poppers” containing amyl nitrate or nitrite
  • Are allergic to Sildenafil or any of the ingredients in Sildenafil Citrate tablets

 

Before Taking Sildenafil Citrate:

Consult your doctor or healthcare provider if you:

  • Have a history of heart disease, heart attack, or stroke
  • Have high or low blood pressure
  • Have a physical deformity of the penis or Peyronie’s disease
  • Have liver or kidney problems
  • Have stomach ulcers or bleeding problems
  • Have retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye)
  • Are taking any other medications, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements

Possible Side Effects:

Common side effects include:

  • Headache
  • Flushing
  • Upset stomach
  • Abnormal vision (such as changes in color vision and blurred vision)
  • Stuffy or runny nose
  • Back pain
  • Muscle pain
  • Nausea
  • Dizziness
  • Rash

 

Serious side effects:

  • An erection that won’t go away (priapism). If you have an erection lasting more than 4 hours, get medical help right away.
  • Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes. Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes can be a sign of a serious eye problem called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Stop taking Sildenafil Citrate and call your healthcare provider right away if you have sudden vision loss.
  • Sudden hearing decrease or hearing loss. Some people may also have ringing in their ears (tinnitus) or dizziness. If you have these symptoms, stop taking Sildenafil Citrate and contact a doctor right away.

Drug Interactions:

Sildenafil Citrate may interact with certain medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including:

  • Nitrates (for chest pain)
  • Alpha-blockers (used to treat high blood pressure or prostate problems)
  • HIV protease inhibitors
  • Oral antifungal medications
  • Antibiotics
  • Other medications for erectile dysfunction

Dosage and Administration:

  • Sildenafil Citrate should be taken as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
  • Do not take more than one dose in a 24-hour period.
  • The recommended starting dose is 50mg, but your doctor may prescribe a different dose based on your needs.
  • Take Sildenafil Citrate about 30 minutes to 1 hour before sexual activity. It can be taken up to 4 hours before sexual activity.
  • Avoid taking Sildenafil Citrate with a high-fat meal, as it may reduce the effectiveness of the medication.

Storage:

  • Store Sildenafil Citrate at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C).
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Additional Information:

  • Sildenafil Citrate does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV.
  • Always use Sildenafil Citrate exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
  • Do not share your medication with others, even if they have the same symptoms.
