Important safety information for Tadalafil (2.5mg, 5mg, 10mg, 20mg)

Warning:

Tadalafil can cause serious side effects. Do not take Tadalafil if you:

  • Take any form of nitrates (often prescribed for chest pain)
  • Use recreational drugs called “poppers” containing amyl nitrate or nitrite
  • Are allergic to Tadalafil or any of the ingredients in Tadalafil tablets

 

Before Taking Tadalafil:

Consult your doctor or healthcare provider if you:

  • Have a history of heart disease, heart attack, or stroke
  • Have high or low blood pressure
  • Have liver or kidney problems
  • Have retinitis pigmentosa (an inherited condition of the eye)
  • Have stomach ulcers or bleeding problems
  • Have a physical deformity of the penis or Peyronie’s disease
  • Are taking any other medications, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements

Possible Side Effects:

Common side effects include:

  • Headache
  • Indigestion or upset stomach
  • Back pain
  • Muscle aches
  • Flushing (redness or warmth in the face, neck, or chest)
  • Stuffy or runny nose

 

Serious side effects:

  • An erection that won’t go away (priapism). If you have an erection lasting more than 4 hours, get medical help right away.
  • Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes. This can be a sign of a serious eye problem called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Stop taking Tadalafil and call your healthcare provider right away if you have sudden vision loss.
  • Sudden hearing decrease or hearing loss. Some people may also have ringing in their ears (tinnitus) or dizziness. If you have these symptoms, stop taking Tadalafil and contact a doctor right away.

Drug Interactions:

Tadalafil may interact with certain medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including:

  • Nitrates (for chest pain)
  • Alpha-blockers (used to treat high blood pressure or prostate problems)
  • Blood pressure medications
  • HIV protease inhibitors
  • Oral antifungal medications
  • Antibiotics
  • Other medications for erectile dysfunction

Dosage and Administration:

  • Tadalafil should be taken as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
  • Do not take more than one dose in a 24-hour period.
  • The recommended starting dose is 10mg before sexual activity, but your doctor may prescribe a different dose based on your needs. For daily use, the recommended dose is 2.5mg to 5mg.
  • Take Tadalafil at least 30 minutes before sexual activity.
  • It can be taken with or without food.

Storage:

  • Store Tadalafil at room temperature between 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C).
  • Keep out of reach of children.

Additional Information:

  • Tadalafil does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including HIV.
  • Always use Tadalafil exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider.
  • Do not share your medication with others, even if they have the same symptoms.
