Just as effective in treating erectile dysfunction as Cialis® but priced significantly lower.
Generic Cialis, also known as tadalafil, is the non-branded version of the drug. It’s more affordable than branded Cialis and can be taken as needed or daily to treat erectile dysfunction. Tadalafil is the active ingredient in both Cialis and its generic counterpart.
Test it solo first. Try your medication without a partner first so you see how it affects you/your body.
Take at least 60 minutes before sex (if you’re taking as-needed). Your medication stays in the body for approx. 24-36 hours. If you’re taking medication daily, you’ll be ready for sex at any time.
Arousal required. Tadalafil won’t automatically give you an erection if you’re not aroused, so start with foreplay to see the best results.
The most common side effects include headache, upset stomach, back pain, muscle aches, nasal congestion, flushing, and pain in the legs or arms. For more details, see Important Safety Information.
What safety information should I know before taking tadalafil?
Do not take tadalafil if you are on nitrates (often prescribed for chest pain) or guanylate cyclase stimulators like Adempas (riociguat), as this can cause a sudden, dangerous drop in blood pressure. Learn more

Compared to other ED drugs, tadalafil has a longer duration, working for up to 36 hours. However, this doesn’t mean a continuous erection for 36 hours. Instead, the medication enhances your ability to achieve an erection during this period, but arousal is still required.
Tadalafil increases blood flow to the penis, resulting in stronger and longer-lasting erections. It is prescribed for erectile dysfunction (ED), a condition where the penis doesn’t receive enough blood due to inadequate blood flow or insufficiently open blood vessels. However, tadalafil and other PDE5 inhibitors won’t cause an automatic erection; sexual arousal is still necessary for them to be effective.
Tadalafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and is available in four doses: 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg. It can be taken as needed in any of these doses. The 2.5 mg and 5 mg doses are also approved for daily use for ED. Additionally, these lower doses are FDA-approved for men experiencing urinary symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), with or without ED.
It can take between 30 minutes to two hours for the medication to take effect. Therefore, if you’re taking the as-needed dose, it should be taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. For daily use, the medication should be taken at the same time every day. Do not take more than one dose within a 24-hour period.
